subject:	IFC Shelter Lease

The term of the current lease with the InterFaith Council (IFC) for the Municipal Building on Rosemary Street is from July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2007.  Public Works staff contacted the IFC staff concerning renewing the lease and discussed the possibility of the men’s shelter relocating and the effect of that possible move on the lease.  The Town Manager also contacted Chris Moran of the IFC about the possibility of not renewing the two-year lease and instead continuing their occupancy of the property on a month-to-month basis.

Mr. Moran acknowledged that a month-to-month arrangement would provide both parties flexibility and stated that he understood that the Town is not trying to evict the shelter from the site.

Unless the Council gives different direction, the lease will expire June 30, 2007 and our agreement with the IFC will continue on a month-to-month basis.
