The items on tonight’s agenda advance two of the Council’s highest technology goals:

• A Technology Needs Assessment to serve as the foundation for a Strategic Technology Plan.  This plan will be presented by our external consultants, Jake Jacobstein and Carl Moore, who prepared the assessment.
• Our Information Technology Director, Bob Avery, will present his proposal for a wireless hot spot demonstration project and seek your concurrence.  Council has already provided local funding and successfully achieved a higher priority for state funding of the traffic signal system, the backbone of connectivity for the Town.  These two actions significantly advance the Town’s connectivity priority.
