PURPOSE
Before the Council tonight are two applications:
The purpose of this cover memorandum is to forward the Town Manager’s recommendations to the Council for the above applications.
MANAGER’S REVISED RECOMMENDATION
I have reviewed and discussed the key issues with Town staff. Based on the information in the record to date, I believe that the Council could make the findings required to approve: 1) the request for a Zoning Atlas Amendment, and 2) the application for a Special Use Permit.
My recommendation is that the Council: 1) enact an Ordinance, approving the request for a Zoning Atlas Amendment to rezone the proposed Orange County Animal Services Facility site from the Residential-1 (R-1) zoning district to the Office/Institutional-1-Conditional (OI-1-C) zoning district; and 2) adopt Revised Resolution A, approving the Orange County Animal Services Facility Special Use Permit application.
Please be aware that as a Joint Planning Area application, the rezoning is contingent on approval from the Orange County Commissioners.
