A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE NAMING COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION TO COMMEMORATE THE PEACE AND JUSTICE PLAZA (2007-09-10/R-8)

WHEREAS, the Naming Committee has recommended commemorating the Peace and Justice Plaza with an engraved granite paver monument to be installed in front of the Plaza flagpole for an estimated $2,000; and

WHEREAS, the Naming Committee has also recommended that the Plaza be further enhanced by pressure washing the surrounding brick and cement, painting the flagpole in a color that matches the building façade and by having the Town adopt the planter at the Plaza’s corner on Franklin and Henderson streets;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Peace and Justice Plaza be commemorated as outlined above.
