A RESOLUTION APPROVING LETTER AGREEMENT FOR SALES TAX REALLOCATION SERVICES BETWEEN ORANGE COUNTY, THE TOWNS OF CHAPEL HILL, CARRBORO, AND HILLSBOROUGH AND ROBERT S. SEGAL (2007-09-24/R-4)

WHEREAS, Orange County and the Towns of Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Hillsborough have previously used services provided by Robert Segal, CPA for sales tax reallocation audits that have resulted in additional funds discovered and returned to the county as well as the municipalities; and

WHEREAS, Orange County has requested that the Town of Chapel Hill and Towns of Carrboro and Hillsborough jointly enter into the Letter Agreement with Robert S. Segal for additional services for the purpose of increasing the sales tax revenues for the County and Towns; and

WHEREAS, the cost of the services to Orange County and the Towns of Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Hillsborough based upon the prorate share and deducted from the increased sales tax revenue resulting from the services.  

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council approves the joint Letter of Agreement and authorizes the Town Manager to execute the aforementioned Letter of Agreement on behalf of the Town.
