A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A COMPREHENSIVE AFFORDABLE HOUSING STRATEGY (2007-10-8/R-8)

WHEREAS, the Town’s Comprehensive Plan has a goal to increase the availability of well-designed, affordable, safe, and sanitary housing for all citizens of Chapel Hill; and

WHEREAS, there exists in the Town a variety of affordable housing programs that function together to create an affordable housing system; and

WHEREAS, an evaluation of the affordable housing system would help to clarify the affordable housing needs in the Town; and

WHEREAS, the development of a Comprehensive Affordable Housing Strategy based on an evaluation of the affordable housing system would help to address the Comprehensive Plan affordable housing goal;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill approves the development of a Comprehensive Affordable Housing Strategy.
