A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO PROVIDE STUDENTS UNITED FOR A RESPONSIBLE GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT WITH SURPLUS, UNCLAIMED BICYCLES FOR USE IN THE CHAPEL HILL COMMUNITY BICYCLE LOAN PROGRAM (2007-11-07/R-6)

WHEREAS, the Town of Chapel Hill and Students United for a Responsible Global Environment have entered into a performance agreement to support the community bicycle loan program; and

WHEREAS, that performance agreement includes a stipulation that the Town will provide Students United for a Responsible Global Environment unclaimed bicycles to be used in the community bicycle loan program; and

WHEREAS, Students United for a Responsible Global Environment has provided documentation of their 501C3 non profit status.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council authorizes and approves the disposition of unclaimed bicycles by the Chapel Hill Police Department to SURGE pursuant to the provisions of North Carolina General Statutes Sec. 15-12.
