A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE USE OF UP TO $25,000 IN AVAILABLE FUNDS TO REVISE THE TOWN’S TREE PROTECTION ORDINANCE AND AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO SIGN A CONTRACT FOR CONSULTANT SERVICES RELATED TO THE ORDINANCE REVISIONS (2007-11-07/R-8)

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE USE OF UP TO $25,000 IN AVAILABLE FUNDS TO revise THe TOWN’S tree protection ordinance and authorizING the Town Manager to sign a contract for consultant services related to the ordinance revisions (2007-11-07/R-8)

WHEREAS, the Council has endorsed a two-phased approach to develop new tree protection regulations;

WHEREAS, on June 11, 2007, interim changes to the ordinance were established;

WHEREAS, a qualified consultant with expertise in writing specialized tree ordinances has been identified; and

WHEREAS, $25,000 is currently available in funding for consultant services;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council authorizes the use of up to $25,000 in available funds for revisions to the Tree Protection Ordinance and authorizes the Town Manager to sign a contract for consultant services related to the Ordinance revisions.
