SUMMARY OF BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN

ADVISORY BOARD ACTION

Subject:                       Chapel Hill Library Extension- Application for Special Use Permit

Meeting Date:           October 23, 2007

Recommendation:      The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board made the following recommendations:

- The project should include provision of way-finder signs for bicyclists and pedestrians.

- Stipulation #15 should be amended to provide for a buffer between the pedestrian paths and adjacent roadways.

- Stipulation #17 should be amended to require that the proposed bicycle parking be the inverted “U” design and that a portion of the parking be provided at the lower entrance in addition to the upper main entrance.
