A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE TOWN OF CHAPEL HILL AND THE NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR INSTALLATION OF LANDSCAPE BUFFER BETWEEN CHRISTOPHER ROAD AND FORDHAM BOULEVARD (2007-11-19/R-5)

WHEREAS, the Town Council received a petition from the residents of the Christopher Road area requesting installation of a landscape buffer between Christopher Road and Fordham Boulevard; and

WHEREAS, the Town developed a landscape buffer plan which was reviewed and approved by the interested area residents and the North Carolina Department of Transportation; and

WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation and the Town have prepared a municipal agreement including a provision that the State agrees to provide funds in an amount not to exceed $50,000 for the landscape buffer between Christopher Road and Fordham Boulevard.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council authorizes the Town Manager to execute an Agreement between the Town of Chapel Hill and the North Carolina Department of Transportation for installation of a landscape buffer between Christopher Road and Fordham Boulevard in accordance with the approved plans and specifications.
