A RESOLUTION MODIFYING THE 2006-2007 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM (2008-02-11/R-8)

WHEREAS, on April 24, 2006 the Chapel Hill Town Council approved a 2006-2007 Community Development Block Grant spending plan; and

WHEREAS, the 2006-2007 Community Development Block Grant program includes an allocation of $75,809 to EmPOWERment for acquisition of properties in the Northside neighborhood;

WHEREAS, EmPOWERment has requested to be able to use these funds for acquisition, homeownership assistance, or renovation expenses;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the 2006-2007 Community Development Block Grant allocation to EmPOWERment for acquisition of property, homeownership assistance, or renovation expenses for properties in the Northside neighborhood.
