Public Hearing: Land Use Management Ordinance Text Amendment – Modification to the Floor Area Requirement in the Single-Family Component of a Planned Development-Housing

PURPOSE

 

Tonight, the Council considers a proposed Land Use Management Ordinance text amendment regarding modification to the floor area limit for the single-family component of a Planned Development-Housing (PD-H).

 

Tonight’s Public Hearing has been scheduled to receive public comment about the proposed text amendment.  The purpose of this cover memorandum is to forward my preliminary recommendation to the Council.

 

MANAGER’S PRELIMINARY RECOMMENDATION

 

The proposed Land Use Management Ordinance Text Amendment would remove the maximum floor area limit for single-family dwelling units within a Planned Development-Housing.

 

I believe the proposed changes to the Land Use Management Ordinance would benefit the community by providing more flexibility in the single-family components of residential Planned Developments. My preliminary recommendation is that the Council enact the attached Ordinance, approving the proposed Land Use Management Ordinance text amendment.
