MEMORANDUM

SUBJECT:	Development Application: South Grove Planned Development Special Use Permit
DATE:	February 20, 2008

The Commission voted 6-0 to recommend that the Council require a full payment-in-lieu of recreation space for this development.

In the event that the Council does not require a payment-in-lieu of recreation space, the Commission recommends that the Council adopt Resolution A, including the language in Stipulation 21 dealing with Recreation Space. 

The Commission supports the recreation amenities agreed to between the Parks and Recreation Department staff and the developer in the event that recreation space improvements are made on-site. These improvements would include: an approximately 120 foot X 60 foot graded play field with goals, a 40 foot X 50 foot court surface with basketball goal, children’s play area, gazebo, and park furniture.

Present: Faith Nager, Vice-Chair; Betsey Anderson; Neal Bench, Joan Guilkey Diane VandenBroek and Pete Schwartz.  A quorum was present.

Absent: Terry Blalock, Eugene Farrar, Doug Heilig, Joey Jetevu and Raymond Wong
