Subject: Wesley Concept Plan - March 10
I am writing to express my support for the Wesley
Foundation building project. I have been involed in the daily operations of
the Wesley Foundation as the administrative associate for the past 8 years.
There is no doubt among those involved with Wesley that it is a special
place. The students who walk through the doors each semester and become
involved with Wesley activities that include, weekly dinner, small groups and
worship, along with spring and fall retreats, alternative semester and spring
break service work, are what makes Wesley so special. I have been behind my
desk numerous times when someone walks through the front door and states, "I
used to come here." It has its legacy and it has its future here among the
university community and Chapel Hill. All it needs is a new place, a
new building that is environmentally safe with no asbestos, a building that
has an efficient HVAC system, a building that has windows that open, and a
building that will comfortably house student residents that can walk to
campus and downtown for years to come. On behalf of the many students,
alumni and friends who walk through Wesley's doors, I ask that you support our
plans to renew "our space for grace."
