DRAFT SUMMARY MINUTES OF A PLANNING RETREAT
OF THE CHAPEL HILL TOWN COUNCIL
Friday, January 11, 2008 AT 5:30 p.m.

Present were Mayor Kevin Foy, Mayor pro tem Jim Ward, Council Member Laurin Easthom, Council Member Sally Greene, Council Member Ed Harrison, Council Member Matt Czajkowski, Council Member Bill Thorpe, and Council Member Bill Strom.

Staff members present were Town Manager Roger Stancil, Deputy Town Manager Florentine Miller, Assistant Town Manager Bruce Heflin, Town Attorney Ralph Karpinos, Director of Communications and Public Affairs Sabrina Oliver, Public Information Officer Catherine Lazorko, Economic Development Officer Dwight Bassett, Engineering Director George Small, Interim Finance Director Loris Colclough, Fire Chief Dan Jones, Housing Director Tina Vaughn, Human Resources Development Director Valerie Meicher, Information Technology Director Bob Avery, Inspections and Interim Public Works Director Lance Norris, Library Director Kathy Thompson, Parks and Recreation Director Butch Kisiah, Planning Director JB Culpepper, Police Chief Brian Curran, Transit Director Steve Spade, Executive Assistant Carol Abernethy, and Mayoral Aide Carlo Robustelli.

The Mayor and Council and Senior Management Team staff met to build relationships, celebrate successes and introduce new Council and staff.

The meeting adjourned at 9:45 pm.
