DATE: |
April 14, 2008 |
PURPOSE
This report reviews the status of funding for ongoing consultant projects including the Rogers Road Small Area Plan Task Force workshop funding.
BACKGROUND
On March 17, 2008, Council member Strom requested Council agreement to proceed in the development of a Rogers Road Neighborhood Planning Workshop. At the meeting, the Council agreed to provide funding for the Rogers Road workshop from existing funds in the Planning Department budget for consultant services.
DISCUSSION
The Town has completed an agreement with the Durham Area Designers to conduct a Rogers Road Neighborhood Planning workshop, scheduled for May 3, 2008. The anticipated cost to conduct the workshop and prepare a final report and associated materials is $14,000.
There is approximately $73,000 available in the Town’s consultant services fund. On March 17, 2008, the Council agreed to provide $10,000 for consultant assistance to complete the inclusionary zoning study. The Council has also set aside $30,000 for possible studies associated with Carolina North. After providing funding for the Roger Road workshop we believe approximately $19,000 will remain available for possible future allocation.
