Discussion:

·                   The Board agreed that the number of vehicle parking spaces should be reduced from (580) spaces to (524) spaces, which was the number of parking spaces proposed in the initial application. The Board felt this would reduce the footprint of the development as it related to transportation as well as put less emphasis on automobile usage.

·                   The Board also agreed that the number of bicycle parking spaces should be increased from (110) spaces to (173) spaces. Under current regulations, the proposed 346 residential unit development would require a minimum of (58) bicycle parking spaces, or (1) space per (6) units. The Board, however, has expressed a desire to change the minimum requirement to (1) space per (2) units.

·                   Some Board members were concerned about the amount of traffic that might be generated by the development on neighboring streets and intersections, though the technical traffic analysis showed little to no impact.
