SUMMARY OF BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN

ADVISORY BOARD ACTION

 

Subject:

Residences at Grove Park Multi-Family Development (aka Town House Apartments)- Special Use Permit Application

Meeting Date:

February 26, 2008

Recommendation:

That the Council adopt Resolution A included as Attachment (3) to the February 19, 2008 Staff Report, and that the following new stipulation be included in Resolution A:

 

1. Sidewalk Construction: That sidewalks be constructed on the east side of roadway in front of Buildings (1) and (2), and along one side of the pavement leading into the parking garage located between Buildings (1) and (2)

 

Vote: 8-0

 

Ayes: Perri Morgan, Jed Dube, Kate Millard, Brian Decker, Ray Magyar, Linda Gaines, Doug MacLean, and Douglas Wilson

Discussion:

 

 

·        That the project proposal meets the current bicycle parking space requirement

·        That staff reviews the NC86 (Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Study to find out if additional right of way could be requested along NC86 (Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard)

·        That an agreement is negotiated between developers and property owners to the south regarding problems of increased pedestrian traffic from the development through adjoining properties
