Enactment of the attached two budget ordinance amendments would increase the budget of the Traffic Signal System Upgrade Project by $450,000.
The Town of Chapel Hill has received funding from the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Surface Transportation Program Direct Allocation Program to fund traffic signal system upgrade project. The Town has been allocated $360,000 in federal funds, which requires a $90,000 local match. The Town match is provided in the Capital Improvement Program.
That the Council enacts the attached two budget ordinance amendments [2008-05-05/O-2a and 2008-05-05/O-2b] increasing the budget for the Traffic Signal Upgrade Project by $450,000. The sources of funds are the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Surface Transportation Program Direct Allocation Program ($360,000) and a transfer from the Capital Improvement Program ($90,000) to provide the required match.
