I am writing to ask you to support the passage of the upcoming resolution (2008-5-5/R-8) which authorizes the town manager to move forward with the installation of pedestrian-level lighting improvements and two emergency call boxes in the downtown area of Chapel Hill.

I think that this is an important resolution for our community.  As a student and town resident, I feel that this resolution will go a long way in improving safety within our town.  It will benefit the community at large through increased pedestrian-level lighting and by providing dedicated communication to police via the emergency call boxes.
