Woodmont
All,
My name is Sandy Pendergraft. My
wife and I live on the corner of Pearl Lane and Barbee Chapel Road.
I apologize for not being at the public hearing, last night, in regards to the
proposed Woodmont project. However, I would like to express my full support for
the Woodmont project. I have lived in this area for most of my life. This
neighborhood has been home for my family for over 100 years. I, myself, have
seen many changes in this area of town. I initially opposed the Meadowmont
project. However, I quickly changed my mind. It is one of the best changes that
have occurred in this area in a long time. I think that Woodmont will have the
same effect. With development of this nature, there is always some negative
impact. However, I believe, that the positives heavily outweigh the negatives.
Sure there will be some increase in traffic. However, I believe that the
developers, Capital Associates, are very concerned with the neighborhoods and
are working very closely with them to address any concerns that they have and
will do whatever it takes to accommodate those concerns. I think they will make
the necessary changes to the road system to make the flow of traffic better.
I read in the paper this morning
that the people of Alta Springs and Sherwood Forrest are opposed
to this development. I am not sure why. This proposed development is adjacent to
both neighborhoods as well as to the Pearl Lane neighborhood. I think this
development can only increase the quality of life for all surrounding
neighborhoods, as Meadowmont did.
Therefore, please accept our
endorsement of this proposed development.
Thank you,
Sandy and LeeAnne
