Project Ordinance for a 2008-09 Transit Planning Grant (Federal Highway Administration Section 104(f)) |

The attached ordinance would establish a project budget for a Transit planning grant for 2008-2009.
The Town has requested FY2008-2009 Section 104 (f) planning funds. These funds are administered by the City of Durham, the urbanized area’s lead planning agency. These funds are apportioned to the State through a population-based formula approved by the North Carolina Board of Transportation. Recipients of these funds are required to provide a 20% local match.
Section 104(f) planning funds have been allocated to Chapel Hill in the amount of $84,954 and will be used for general program support and technical assistance of the Town’s Transit Planning staff. Tasks to be performed include:
The Town will be reimbursed 80 percent ($67,963) of the project expenses by federal Section 104 program funds passed through to the City of Durham. The Town is required to provide the local match of 20 percent ($16,991) for this project, from funds budgeted for this purpose in the Town’s General Fund. There is no State participation in this project.
That the Council enact the attached budget ordinance.
