Title of Agenda Item: Report on the 2007-08 Public Housing Assessment System (PHAS) Management Operations Certification
Background: The attached staff memorandum includes background information on the 2007-08 Public Housing Assessment System (PHAS) Management Operations Certification that was submitted to the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on July 29, 2008.
The PHAS Certification establishes procedures whereby HUD evaluates the management of public housing agencies. Using standard performance criteria for all agencies, HUD determines areas of good management and areas needing improvement.
The attached resolution would approve the 2007-2008 Public Housing Assessment System (PHAS) Management Operations Certification as required by HUD.
Staff Recommendation(s): That the Council adopt the attached resolution authorizing the approval of the 2007-08 Public Housing Assessment System (PHAS) Management Operation Certification as required by HUD.
