Title of Agenda Item: Budget Ordinance Amendment to Accept Transferred Funds from the Chapel Hill Public Art Commission

Background:  The attached staff memorandum includes background information on the enacted amendment to Article XII Chapter 2 of the Town code (enacted 01/14/2008) which

• Established the Chapel Hill Public Art Office under  the Town structure
• Called for the transition of the Chapel Hill Public Art Committee from a separate 501c3 organization to the Chapel Hill Public Art Advisory Committee
• Requested the return of unused Town appropriated funds from the Commission back to Town control

Staff Recommendation(s): That Council consider the memorandum and enact the budget ordinance amendment to approve the transfer of $24,014 from the Chapel Hill Public Art Commission to the Public Art Office for use in public art programs and activities.
