Background:  The attached memorandum includes background information on the North Carolina League of Municipalities Green Challenge, a description of the staff’s assessment of the Town’s qualifications for participation and recognition, and the SEE Committee Chair’s position on this item.

Staff Recommendation(s):  That the Council adopt the attached resolution to accept the North Carolina League of Municipalities Green Challenge and pledge to work toward achieving the various levels of the challenge, indicating measures accomplished to save energy and other natural resources over the next three years.
