SUBJECT: Approval of On-Street Parking Restrictions on Hamilton Road and Prestwick Road

The purpose of this report is to recommend that the Council approve the following on-street parking regulations:
Please see the map presented in Attachment 1. We recommend enactment of the ordinance.
The Police Department has requested that on-street parking be restricted on Hamilton Road and Prestwick Road to provide adequate vehicle travel lane widths for school buses and emergency vehicles at or near the intersection and along portions of both streets. The on-street parking at these locations sometimes inhibits both emergency and service vehicle access to and through the intersection. We have also received calls from the Glenwood Elementary School expressing the same concerns.
We observed that, during school hours when cars are parked on both sides of the streets, some or all of the following conditions are present:
