subject: Reschedule Continuation of a Public Hearing: Residence at Grove Park, 425 Hillsborough Street Special Use Permit Application

PURPOSE

Tonight’s meeting is a continuation of the April 21 public hearing for a proposal by RAM Development Company for the Residences at Grove Park Special Use Permit application.    The purpose of this memorandum is to recommend that the Council’s consideration of the Special Use Permit application be delayed to the Council’s October 27, 2008 Business Meeting. 

DISCUSSION

On September 15, the Council held Public Hearings to consider two revised applications regarding the Residences at Grove Park development proposal:

1. An application to amend the Residential-Special Standards-Conditional (R-SS-C) residential zoning districts; and
2. A revised application to rezone the proposed Residence at Grove Park site to the proposed amended R-SS-C zoning district.

On September 15 the Council continued the public hearings on the above applications to October 27, 2008.  Because the Residence at Grove Park Special Use Permit application is closely associated with these applications, we recommend that the Council adjust tonight’s agenda and continue the Special Use Permit public hearing to October 27, 2008.

RECOMMENDATION

We recommend that the Council adopt the attached Resolution to continue the public hearing for the Residence at Grove Park Special Use Permit to October 27, 2008.
