Title of Agenda Item: Staff Response to Advisory Board Petition Regarding Changes to Advisory Board Review Process
Background: The attached staff memorandum includes background information on a May 5, 2008 petition received by the Council from advisory board members on suggested changes to the advisory board process for reviewing development applications.
Staff Recommendation(s): That, in order to respond to concerns raised in the advisory board member petition, the staff implements modifications to the development review process in the following ways:
o provide more opportunity for discussion between staff and applicants prior to advisory board review;
o allow time for more staff analysis and integration of the advisory board recommendations prior to public hearing; and
o redirect revised applications to a second review by advisory boards.
