A RESOLUTION GRANTING A VARIANCE TO THE PROPERTY AT 109-111 EAST FRANKLIN STREET FROM THE REQUIRMENTS OF SECTION 7-56, PARAGRAPH (3) OF THE TOWN CODE

WHEREAS, evidence has been presented showing to the satisfaction of the Town Council that the plans submitted for the renovation work at 109-111 East Franklin Street include adequate precautionary and safety measures to meet otherwise applicable code provisions and that the structural changes do not compromise existing life safety elements;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council, pursuant to the provisions of Section 7-59 of the Town Code hereby grants a variance to the property at 109-111 East Franklin Street from the requirements of 7-56 of the Town Code to install a automatic fire sprinkler system as part of the renovation work for which plans have been submitted to the Town and determines that the renovation project for this building shall not be required to install such a system.
