PURPOSE

Tonight the Council continues the Public Hearing from September 17, 2008 to consider requests from the St. Thomas More Catholic Community for the St. Thomas More Catholic Church and School Master Land Use Plan Modification and Special Use Permit Modification applications. The site is located at 920-940 Carmichael Street between Raleigh Road and Old Mason Farm Road. The purpose of this cover memorandum is to forward the Town Manager’s recommendations to the Council for the above applications. Please refer to the two accompanying memoranda for additional information.

MAnager’s REVISED recommendation

I have reviewed and discussed the key issues with Town staff. Based on the information in the record to date, I believe that with the conditions in the attached resolutions, the Council could make findings required to approve the applications for Master Land Use Plan Modification and Special Use Permit Modification. My revised recommendation is that the Council 1) adopt Revised Resolution A, approving the application for Master Land Use Plan Modification and 2) adopt Revised Resolution A, approving the application for Special Use Permit Modification.
