Title of Agenda Item: Acceptance of FY2008-2009 COPS Law Enforcement Technology Grant
Background: The attached staff memorandum includes background information on the COPS Law Enforcement Technology funds that were awarded to support the Police Department’s technology programs.
Fiscal Note: The Town would receive a Grant Award in the amount of $116,913 to purchase equipment that would support the Police Department in updating its technology capabilities. There is no match required to accept the funds.
Staff Recommendation(s): That the Council adopt the attached resolution authorizing the acceptance of the COPS Law Enforcement Technology grant funds and that Council enact the attached budget ordinance amendment appropriating the COPS grant funds.
