A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE COPS LAW ENFORCEMENT TECHNOLOGY FY 2008-2009 GRANT FUNDS (2008-12-08/R-5)

WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Justice has made funds available to enhance the quality of law enforcement services provided to local communities; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Justice has granted funds in the amount of $116,913; and

WHEREAS, the funds would be used to improve the police department’s ability to address crime issues;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council authorizes the Manager to accept the U.S. Department of Justice COPS Law Enforcement Technology FY 2008-2009 Grant funds and to make all necessary assurances.
