Title of Agenda Item: Acceptance of FY2008-2009 Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Grant Funds
Background: The attached staff memorandum includes background information on Project Safe Neighborhoods funds that were awarded to support the Police Department’s violent crime intervention strategies.
Fiscal Note: The Town would receive a Grant Award in the amount of $27,491 to support the cost of a PSN resource coordinator position. The Town would reapply annually to Department of Justice for funding. There is no match required to accept the funds.
Staff Recommendation(s): That the Council adopt the attached resolution authorizing the acceptance of the Project Safe Neighborhoods grant funds and that the Council enact the attached budget ordinance amendment appropriating the PSN grant funds.
