A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE PROJECT SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS FY 2008-2009 GRANT FUNDS (2008-12-08/R-6)

WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Justice has made funds available to enhance the quality of law enforcement services provided to local communities; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Justice has granted funds in the amount of $27,491; and

WHEREAS, the funds would be used to improve the police department’s ability to address violent crime issues.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council authorizes the Manager to accept the U.S. Department of Justice Project Safe Neighborhoods FY 2008-2009 Grant funds and to make all necessary assurances.
