A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF UP TO 7 LIGHT DUTY TRANSIT VEHICLES (2008-12-08/R-7)

WHEREAS, the Town of Chapel Hill has received quotes from National Bus Sales and Leasing in accordance with G.S. 143-129, and

WHEREAS, the Council enacted the project ordinance on June 25, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Chapel Hill Transit has been allocated federal funds in the amount of $400,000 to fund the purchase of miscellaneous capital and buses;

WHEREAS, Chapel Hill Transit has submitted an application to the Federal Transit Administration; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill for the purchase of up to 7 light duty transit buses from National Bus Sales and Leasing.
