A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE BULLET PROOF VEST PARTNERSHIP FY 2008-2009 GRANT FUNDS (2009-01-12/R-7)

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE BULLET PROOF VEST PARTNERSHIP FY 2008-2009 GRANT FUNDS (2009-01-12/R-7)

WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Justice has made funds available to assist law enforcement agencies in purchasing bullet proof vests for officers; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Justice has granted funds in the amount of $10,466; and

WHEREAS, the funds would be used to improve the safety of police department employees;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council authorizes the Manager to accept the U.S. Department of Justice Bullet Proof Vest Partnership FY 2008-2009 Grant funds and to make all necessary assurances.
