SUMMARY OF COMMUNITY DESIGN COMMISSION ACTION

 

 

Subject:                      1609 East Franklin Street Office Development - Application for a Special Use Permit

 

Meeting Date:            November 12, 2008

 

Recommendation:     That the Council approve the application for a Special Use Permit with the adoption of Resolution A included as an attachment to the November 4, 2008 Special Use Permit Staff Report, with the following changes:

 

                                    Stipulation 1: Construction Deadline: That construction begin by _____ (two three years from the date of Council approval) and be completed by ____ (three four years from the date of Council approval).

 

                                    Stipulation 5: Handicapped Parking: That the applicant comply with ADA requirements.  Compliance with federal standards on handicap parking and access will be monitored by the NC Department of Insurance.

                                    That the applicant comply with the requirements of the North Carolina Accessibility Code.

 

                                    Stipulation 9: Velma Road pedestrian connection and sidewalk: That the applicant construct a pedestrian connection to Velma Road and a sidewalk along the Velma Road frontage if the grade allows; or a concrete pad at the end of the recommended pedestrian connection to Velma Road. That the Town Manager may approve a payment-in-lieu for construction of the sidewalk.
