SUMMARY OF PLANNING BOARD ACTION
Subject: Land Use Management Text Amendment – Gravel as Impervious Surface
Meeting Date: January 6, 2009
Recommendation: That the Council enact the proposed ordinance, as attached to the January 6, 2009 Planning Board Memorandum, to provide consistency within the Land Use Management Ordinance as to consideration of gravel as impervious surface.
Vote: 7-1
Ayes: George Cianciolo, Michael Collins, Del Snow, James Stroud, Jason Baker, Michael Gerhardt, and John Ager
Nays: Judith Weseman (reason: some gravel surfaces should be considered at least semi-permeable. She was concerned that by eliminating gravel as a somewhat permeable surface, developers would be inclined to choose more impervious materials such as asphalt.)
