Title of Agenda Item: Acceptance of the Sculpture Pillar of Fire by Paul Penny into the Town’s Public Art Collection
Background: The attached staff memorandum includes background information on the circumstances of this work of art being offered to the Town by the Chapel Hill Public Arts Commission.
Fiscal Note: The value of this artwork is $4,000. Insurance for the artwork is covered under the Town’s existing property insurance art rider policy. The artwork is already installed in a public location, so there is no installation cost. Cost would only be incurred if the insurance deductible was required for future damage and repair of the sculpture.
Staff Recommendation(s): That the Council accept [by resolution] the Paul Penny Artwork as offered as a gift to the Town by the Chapel Hill Public Art Collection.
