SUBJECT:	Recommendation to Remove a Current Member of the Parks and Recreation Commission

PURPOSE

Adoption of the attached resolution would remove a member of the Parks and Recreation Commission.

BACKGROUND

Joey Jetevu was appointed by the Council to the Parks and Recreation Commission effective July 1, 2007.

DISCUSSION

Mr. Jetevu has not attended a Parks and Recreation Commission meeting since April 2008.  The staff continues to mail Commission material to his address. The Chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission reported that he attempted to contact Mr. Jetevu twice in recent months concerning his absences from Commission meetings, but without success.

RECOMMENDATION

The Parks and Recreation Commission voted unanimously (9-0) to recommend that the position on the Commission held by Joey Jetevu be vacated in order to allow the seat to be filled by an active member.
