A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A GRANT OF $15,000 FROM THE FRIENDS OF CHAPEL HILL PARKS, RECREATION, AND GREENWAYS FOR THE BOLIN CREEK TRAIL (2009-03-09/R-7)

WHEREAS, the Bolin Creek Trail is an important recreation and transportation facility; and

WHEREAS, portions of the trail are now in need of renovation and repair; and

WHEREAS, The Friends of Chapel Hill Parks, Recreation, and Greenways has offered to provide $15,000 to be used in an initial assessment of renovation needs of the existing portion of the Bolin Creek Trail and preliminary design.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel Hill that the Council accepts the offered $15,000 grant from The Friends of Chapel Hill Parks, Recreation, and Greenways and authorizes the Manager to execute a performance agreement with the Friends of Chapel Hill Parks, Recreation, and Greenways.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Town Council that the Council thanks the Friends of Chapel Hill Parks, Recreation, and Greenways for its generous grant intended to improve one of the Town’s most important recreation and transportation facilities.
