subject:       Recommendation to Remove Two Current Members of the Transportation Board

PURPOSE

The purpose of this report is to recommend the removal of two members from the Transportation Board.

BACKGROUND

Mr. Adrian Randall and Mr. Matthew Lubin were appointed to the Transportation Board effective July 1, 2008.

DISCUSSION

Twice each month during the week of the scheduled Transportation Board meeting, an email goes out to each member asking their availability to attend the meeting to determine if a quorum will be achieved. Mr. Randall has not responded to these emails, has not attended a meeting for several months and has not been in contact with any member of the Board.

Mr. Lubin was contacted by the Chair of the Transportation Board to welcome him as a member after his appointment. At that time, he informed the Chair that he was out of the country and would be for several months and was therefore unable to attend meetings.

RECOMMENDATION

The Transportation Board voted unanimously (7-0) to recommend that the seats on the Board held by Mr. Randall and Mr. Lubin be vacated in order to allow the seats to be filled by active members. [Adoption of the attached resolution would direct this action.]
