A RESOLUTION NAMING THE SOUTHERN COMMUNITY PARK, OLD CHAPEL HILL CEMETERY GAZEBO, AND SOUTHERN COMMUNITY PARK DISC GOLF COURSE  (2009-05-04/R-6)

WHEREAS, the Council Naming Committee has responded to requests from citizen advisory boards including the Parks and Recreation Commission, Greenways Commission, and Cemetery Advisory Board and has unanimously made the following recommendations:

• That the park informally known as Southern Community Park be formally named the Southern Community Park, because of its location adjacent to Southern Village.
• That the gazebo at the Old Chapel Hill Cemetery be named in honor of Rebecca Clark, who for years was an advocate for the preservation and maintenance of the Cemetery.
• That the disc golf course at Southern Community Park be named the Dogwood Disc Golf Course.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Chapel Hill Town Council that the above recommendations for naming be approved.
