Subject: Petition to Town Council in Support of NC SAVE$ ENERGY bill

Members of Council:

On behalf of NC WARN and the NC SAVE$ ENERGY Alliance, I would like to petition the Chapel Hill Town Council to support H 1050, known as the NC SAVE$ ENERGY bill at its earliest convenience. 

This bill is very much in accord with the strong environmental values of the Town of Chapel and, if passed, will be a major step toward reducing state greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency, saving low and moderate income families money in their electricity and natural gas bills, and creating green jobs.

I have attached or linked to the following documents:

1) The petition supporting the bill from the Town Sustainability Committee. The Committee voted its unanimous support

Either I or a representative plan to attend the council meeting on May 4^th to ask for the council’s support and to answer any questions council members may have.
