RECOMMENDATION:  The Public Arts Commission met on Wednesday April 12, 2009 by a unanimous vote have made the following recommendation(s) to the Town Council for consideration:

• Amanda Miller, Application, Commission Member
• Maria Lopez-Ibenez, Appointment, Commission Member
• Carter Hubbard, Appointment, Commission Member
• Enid Handler, Appointment, Commission Member

SPECIAL REQUEST(s):

• A commission with membership numbers in line with other Town advisory groups is desired.  Vacancies are preferred until subject appropriate commission members are solicited and make application

BACKGROUND:  The individuals recommended above have all expresses interest in serving on the Public Arts Commission and have demonstrated their interest either by their regular attendance as observers at Commission meetings (Miller & Hubbard) or serving on public art selection panels (Hubbard & Lopez-Ibenez).  All have the necessary background in the arts or related fields that will benefit the Commission in its new advisory role (arts administrator, landscape architect, artist/educator, arts marketing.
