| Title of Agenda Item: Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization Request for Planning Funds. (R-4) | |||

| Background: The Durham-Chapel Hill Carrboro Metropolitan Organization undertakes regional transportation planning projects to support the development and implementation of the adopted regional transportation plans. For these projects the Metropolitan Planning Organization has requested Chapel Hill and other local jurisdictions provide a portion of the funding. | |||

| Fiscal Note: The Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization has requested a total of $60,000 for fiscal year 2009-2010 from the Town of Chapel Hill. If the Council adopts the attached resolution the Town would provide up to $20,000 from funds appropriated for planning consultants. | |||

| Recommendations: The Council will consider a resolution to provide up to $20,000 for the completion of the NC54/I-40 Study. The Council consider directing staff to work with the Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization to further refine the scope of work for the Congestion Management Process Update. | |||
