Attached to this cover memorandum are copies of the most recent version of the proposed University-1 (U-1) Land Use Management Ordinance Text Amendment and the Carolina North Development Agreement. The changes noted in these documents amend the April 28, 2009 documents that were considered by the Town Council during the May 11, 2009 Public Hearing.
Some of the changes incorporated into these documents include comments from some of the Town’s Advisory Boards and Commissions. We anticipate receiving comments from all of the Boards and Commissions before June 8, 2009.
The Town /University Joint Staff Work Group continues to discuss possible changes to other sections in the Development Agreement, including traffic improvements (Section G 8.13), Design Standards and Public Art (section G 8.13) and Neighboring Land, Compatibility Buffers (section G 23). Our current schedule anticipates incorporating additional changes to the Development Agreement between now and the June 15 Public Hearing. In preparation for the June 15 Public Hearing, a status report on changes to the proposed Carolina North Development Agreement will be made available to the Town Council on June 8.
