Active Living by Design Recommendation for Naming of Community Garden. |

| Background: The ALbD Town Advisory Commitee met with Parks and Recreation, the Town Sustainability Office, Town Planning staff and the UNC Homeless Outreach Poverty Eradication (HOPE) student organization to discuss the development of a community garden for Chapel Hill. Parks and Recreation offered land adjacent to the gymnastics center for the community garden. A plan was developed and the grounds walked determining the land and plan to be feasible for the project. | |||

| Recommendations: The ALbD Town Advisory Committee met May 14, 2009 voting unanimously to have the garden titled "Hope Garden" in honor of the work the students have done with the project and to be sent to the Town Naming Committee. Town Planning staff agrees that the title "Hope Garden" be recommended to the Town Naming Committee for consideration. | |||
