| Title of Agenda Item: Authorization to initiate public comment process for Chapel Hill Long Range Transit Plan. (R-5) | |||

| Background: The Town of Chapel Hill, Carrboro and University of North Carolina have been engaged in the development of the Chapel Hill Long Range Transit Plan, working through a Policy Committee made up of elected officals from the two Towns and University administrators. It is expected the Policy Committee will endorse a final Report in July, 2009. | |||

| Fiscal Note: Adoption of the Long Range Transit Plan by the Town would require a future committment to expanded expenditures for public transit services and support facilities. | |||
|
|
|||
| Recommendations: The Council will consider a resolution authorizing the Town Manager to initiate a public comment process for the Chapel Hill Long Range Transit Plan Report and set a public forum for October 12, 2009. | |||
