Background: Chapel Hill Transit's participation in a Regional Call Center can improve the quality of schedule information services and expand hours of phone coverage. The Regional Call Center is able to provide comprehensive transit information of a consistently high quality for longer hours and less cost than Chapel Hill Transit can provide independently. | |||

Fiscal Note: The Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Organization has awarded Chapel Hill Transit $40,491 in Section 5317 federal funds to participate in the GoTriangle Regional Transit Information Center for the first year. These funds are 80% federal and will require a 20% local match. The local matching share for this grant of $10,123 is available in the Transit Capital Reserve Fund. | |||

Recommendations: That the Council consider enacting an ordinance amendment and adopting a resolution to support Chapel Hill Transit’s participation in the GoTriangle Regional Transit Information Center. | |||
